Backflow Prevention Device
- Clean water is important to everyone. One cross-connection can compromise the quality of water. A cross-connection occurs when potable water meets with the outside environment. Any bathtub, sink, washer, dishwasher, toilet or garden hose is a potential cross-connection.
- A backflow device must be installed after the meter (see below for approved devices)
- All backflow devices are mechanical and will eventually fail. Testing is crucial to ensure the safety of the public water system. Each device should be tested annually.
- Colorado State regulations require your backflow devices be tested each year. If you are not sure when your device was last tested, please call the District office at (970) 923-2056.
